Village carols in 2023

Plans for a raft of social events, including a Christmas carol party, were announced at the village AGM. Popular events like the Spring Coffee Morning (April 27th), the Safari Supper (September 20th) and  the Fireworks Party (November 15th) will make a welcome return, along with a revival of the Scarecrow and Harvest Festival events which were successfully launched in 2022.

The chairman, Simon Lillystone, gave special thanks to Alice and Jack O’Brien of the Boars Head for all their efforts in leading the fight against the proposed Fairfax development. He also proposed hosting a Christmas carol  party on a date to be confirmed.

There was also discussion about the long-promised installation of a fibre cable to the village, though the suppliers, Open Reach, will not give a date
