Festive greetings to all residents and beyond from 140 Piccotts End. I’m pleased to say that we have had a very wonderful year in Piccotts End [all agree and sing our anthem “PERA for ever!”]. We’ve already had some snow, and I hear there’s more to come in bucketloads. However, come sun or snow, the views over the Gade (currently) remain as attractive as ever, and I’m sure you’ll all join me in thanking Alice and Jack at the Boar’s Head for all their hard work in spearheading opposition to the plans for housing on the other side of the valley.
Now is not really the moment for a full review of PERA over the year – come to the AGM in 2025 for that. However, of course, Piccotts End wouldn’t be what it is without the fabulous, unstinting, and generous efforts of Jonathan Culverhouse. Whether it be keeping the flower boxes at either end of the hamlet populated, producing the fireworks display and party, instigating the book club, coffee mornings, the informative website, and so on, we on the committee of PERA are all immensely grateful to Jonathan for enriching our lives locally.
As they say, ‘more anon’, so it just leaves me to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year, 2025.
