Peter Benton, a former mayor of Hemel Hempstead and Piccotts End resident, has died.  Peter, who lived at 107, was chairman of the planning committee in the 1960s and responsible for the building of the Kodak tower (now KD Tower). He is pictured here at the ground-breaking ceremony marking the start of the first Hightown housing development. He retired to Northern Ireland.
