Police investigate Piccotts End Lane robbery

Police are investigating an incident near Piccotts End Lane after a man was knocked unconscious and robbed. It was reported that at around 5.30pm on July 1st in an area known as Pondfield off Piccotts End Lane a man, aged in his 20s, was approached by five youths who demanded he hand over his money.

The victim, who said he did not have any money, was then punched and knocked to the floor by the offenders and lost consciousness. During this time the youths are alleged to have taken the victim’s iPhone and wallet from his pockets and made off.

PC Laurence Harwood, from Hemel Hempstead’s Local Crime Unit, said: “This is an unprovoked assault, which left the victim needing hospital treatment. Thankfully he was not more seriously injured and suffered cuts and bruises.

“I am appealing for anyone who saw five youths in the area around the time stated or saw a man being approached by a group of youths, to get in touch by calling the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference D1/16/4579.
