Fireworks party is bang-on!

Michael Nidd with Faces of BritainMore than 70 residents enjoyed pork rolls and pyrotechnics at the annual village fireworks party. The event, which had to be postponed earlier in the month owing to bad weather, took place at Marchmont Cottage with fireworks provided by Fantastic Fireworks. With pulled pork rolls provided by PERA secretary Michael Nidd, soup by Jayne Alger and Lori & Charlie Shearman and hot dogs by social secretary Annette Harrison, it was a feast for all to enjoy. To thank him for all his work supporting PERA, Michael Nidd was presented with a book entitled Faces of Britain by Simon Schama, which features the Piccotts End medieval wall paintings.
