Ena at home in her new home

One of the village’s best loved residents has left her home at the Old Mill after more than 30 years. Ena Hartland, who celebrated her 91st birthday last year, has moved to sheltered accommodation at St Mary’s in the Old Town. Pictured here looking as sprightly as ever in her new surroundings Ena said ‘I do miss my house but living on three floors was getting more and more difficult. At St Mary’s I have a room to myself and I get all my meals cooked.’ Ena spends much of her day walking back and forth to the Old Mill, meeting old friends and doing a lot of tidying up in preparation for a sale. PERA wishes Ena all the best in her new home and we look forward to inviting her in for a cup of tea next time she’s passing!
